In this episode of The 411 Live, we’re joined by Dr. Patricia McManus, President/CEO of the Black Health Coalition of WI and Rep. David Bowen of the Wisconsin State Assemble to talk about how the Corona virus is affecting the African American community.

African Americans appear to have worse outcomes from the Corona virus. The majority of the cases in the City of Milwaukee are on the north side of town, primarily African-Americans.  Local officials are scrambling to respond to the outbreak disproportionately affecting the black community. Other states and cities including Milwaukee, Chicago, and Louisiana, are reporting that disproportionately high numbers of black residents are testing positive for COVID-19 and dying from the virus. Some would say Black Americans are more likely to be uninsured and likely to have jobs that require them to keep going into work in this crisis, risking exposure to the virus. Why are African Americans hit so hard by this virus? Join us as we dive deep in this conversation about how the Corona virus is affecting the African American community. This is The 411 Live. Real People. Real Talk.
