In this episode of The 411 Live, we are joined by Jeanne Geraci, the Executive Director of the Benedict Center.
It’s kind of hard to come from victim to survivor to moving on when you have traps in the system to lure women who may be trafficked into getting arrested for prostitution. This is where continued education and understanding of the issues and the complexities around them are important. The revolving cycle of prostitution, arrests, jail, and release does not solve the problem in the long-term because it does not address the underlying needs of the women forced into the sex trade. Jeanne Geraci is on the front line for getting women the help they need to stay out of the sex trade and avoid jail.
This is a huge task for the Executive Director of the Benedict Center but a task she’s happy to take on. Jeanne says, “Instead of giving somebody a ticket or arresting them, they are given the option to come into the sister’s program.” Listen along as Jeanne Geraci, Executive Director of the Benedict Center talks about the revolving cycle of the sex trade and much more. This is The 411 Live. Real People. Real Talk.
